is tag gone from rear ?? if so look on door jam sticker // not there then stop by auto zone and ger ot look in repair manual for id# breakdown ...........

Won't be on the VIN number---you'll have to get the option label list from the glove box or under the hood and have a GM dealer parts dept decode which option is for the rear axle ratio. Usuualy a code starting with a G letter. A dealer parts dept can call in to GM with the VIN number to get the option codes for your vehicle if your label is missing.

Try front of right axle tube , GM used to stamp the tube with the number, Ford and Dodge uses tags.
