We have a very high obesity percent. Every girl I meet no matter how skinny says they are fat. Americans hate atheists and gays and everyone but someone that is just like them. We're also very racists.

I know all of Americans are not like this, but I've never heard of a country that has more people like this than America, so what do you think causes this, society? The media? Or both?

I have actually thought about going to somewhere in Europe because they have good equality, wealthy, educated, less infant mortality rate, less homicide, etc. And I also have thought about moving for my own health, America is giving me poison, literally.

busymom: Then if it's us as individuals that need to improve why is it that America won't and other countries do, or at least do it better? Why is it that our media is so violent and we are so violent? Why is it that society puts gays down and then gays are afraid to come out?

I don't have a fairy tale view of Europe, I know for a fact that it's better, look at the homicide rates, violence, etc. I know Europe is bad, no place is perfect, but America needs some improvement and it can't be each and every one of us to change it because not everyone will.

blame the media. only one word.
people are brainwashed by media. America was and is based on Puritanian religion. our society is too open and diverse. not saying it should be closed, but this should have some borders, which by the way we don't have anymore.
what makes thing worst is "policial corectness" which by the way rusted our society as plaque.

what worst..."rhanks" to media, most Americans wants quick and easy solution, in life...SORRY FOLKS LIFE DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!!!!

money: sorry to say but you sound like one of those spoiled brats. who would rather stick you heaed in sand 50 feet deep, than hear the real truth.

I was born and raised in Europe, an although I believe Europe is beautiful, and diverse in many ways, and it will always have a special place in my heart, I find your fairy tale view of Europe sad; maybe you do need to live there for a while to get a reality check.

Actually you have identified several area's that in your opinion need improvement, so what is your personal contribution to be part of the solution instead of the problem?
To make any country a better place it takes each of us as individuals to make sure we personally change these type of attitudes by not partaking in them.
Blame can be laid on anyone, or anything, but in the end it is each and everyone of us who needs to take responsibility for what we have done, or failed to do.
The ball is back in your court, make a basket, or sit on the side lines it's your choice.

I am so glad to hear that some of the people in America don't like it here. Does that mean you are leaving?
Australia? Canada? Sweeden made the list of best places to live? We are so crowded it is either someone leave or we stop having babies.
Wasn't the ractio figured in the National Geographic Magazine to calculate how many people could populate an area with out being crowded.
It was take the land mass and divide it in two.
land area 3539341 sq. miles because have of any continient is unusable like the top of mountains and valleys and deserts and grand canyon, national forests and public land.
1769670 x 640 acres is one square mile. With each person getting 4 acres. even if they live in an apartment in the city they still eat food and wear clothes and it has to be grown and produced somewhere.
population should be 4,530,355,200HOw many is in the US anyway?
Would someone figure this out for us so we know how many people has to leave the US?

the media is definitely a factor. Maybe America was not ready to be so diversified so soon. You also have to factor in upbringing since racism is taught, we also have alot of religious fantatics and cults, mostly I believe we for the most part have given in to fearing what we dont understand. I personally say live and let live. I try to respect any and every person that respects me. I try to do a good deed a day, take care of my family with the sweat of my brows, and keep my god first.

America is not the only country that has this stuff, but when you watch t.v., the news, talk shows from America, that's all they're saying. That doesn't mean that's all there is, that just means thats what they're showing you.

because tofo products aren't always readily available in the grocery stores.people are brainwashed into believing the media's unrealistic body images and their society's expectations.they're superficial, intolerant, enjoy playing the blame game & need to feed their ego.

What do you call it when a group of people hate and distrust anything but themselves?

I'd call it narrow-minded, uneducated, ignorant and superstitious.

well because America is more diverse, so it can only happen in America

no other country has that many different type of people so they can't be racist.
