First of all , open the brackets on the RHS:
4x - 0.35 = 3x - 1.77
Now some shifting:
4x - 3x = -1.77 + 0.35
Comes to:
x = -1.42 = Ans.

4x - 0.35 = 3(x - 0.59)
first we have to open the brackets (i.e. multiply 3 with both the terms in the bracket)
4x - 0.35 = 3x - 1.77
now we need to bring all the variables together on one side and to bring the numbers together on the other (note when shifting sides we need to change the signs)
so we bring 3x to the left and change its sign so it becomes negative
and we bring -0.35 to the right and it becomes positive
4x - 3x = -1.77 + 0.35
now since the terms on the left are like terms we can carry out the subtraction 4x-3x
1x = -1.77 + 0.35
and the terms on the right are like terms we can carry out the operation (note when one number has "-" sign like -1.77 has and other number has "+" sign like 0.35 has then we have to subtract 1.77-0.35 = 0.42 and the write the sign of the greater number which was "- 1.77" in front of the answer 0.42 which becomes "- 0.42")
hence x = - 0.42

You must first use the distributive property on the right side fo equation: 4x-0.35=3x-1.05
Then move the -0.35 to the -1.05 by using add-mult property of equality 4x=3x-0.7
Finally, move the 3x to 4x by using add-mult property of equality x=-0.7

4x-.35=3x-1.77---multiply 3 by what's in the ()
4x=3x-1.42---add .35 to both sides
x=-1.42---subtract 3x from both sides
