Who is the best QB (or any position) of all time is a very tough one to answer largely because the nfl has spaned some 50 years (more difficult in baseball with their 100+ years).

Having said that: Mr Brett Farve's name most defintly belongs in the conversation. 260 consecutive starts. 3 time mvp (in a row, no one else has done that). Some will say Marino never had a runner and real receivers for any length of time...who has Farve had for any amount of time? Farve also has won the big one. September 13th 1992...that was the last time Farve did not start a game (he did play in that game).

On top of that have you ever seen Marino smile like Farve does when he is playing football? Elway maybe and if I were throwing to Jerry Rice my whole career and won that many super bowls I would be smiling too. Then on top of these are Manning (Archie...not so much and his son Peyton) maybe Brady from the modern era and a few standards from the time before mine.

Different men on different teams, its too close to call. However if you were to ask me which QB has been the most fun to watch: P. Manning...I've never seen anyone run an offence like that...Brady this year has too many people too throw too. Elway was and proably still is Captain Comeback.

However there is one player I hope never quits football and every offseason my happiest day is when he states that hes comming back. If you were to ask me who I would take under center ten times out of ten if I were given a choice...the answer to these three questions is Mr Brett Farve.

Thank you for you Attention

there is no single greatest of all time because they are all best in certain areas. favre is best known for 4th quarter comebacks, scoring points, managing the game, leading the team, and being able to throw from any awkward position. he is among the greatest if not the best. marino is still up there in my book though. it's a close call.

ONE OF the greatest of all time.

But I will say this about Favre...he's playing like he's 28, not 38

Well he has more heart than any player left in the league, hes won a super bowl and been to 2, and by then end of the season he will have broken nearly every major quarter back record.

his only flaw is that hes thrown lots of picks.

i think hes the best ever but thats just my opinion.

No, way too many turnovers to be considered the best. But like others said, he is probably top 3-5. Helluva playmaker and risk taker though that has been fun to watch.

No, more like 4th, John Elway, Joe Montana, and Dan Marino are 1, 2, 3, not necessarily in that order

Only in John Madden's mind, as Brett is the lust of his life.

No...Joe Montana is...but he is definitely in the top 10...I'd take him over a lot of the so called elite QBs in the league now...Peyton, Carson, Drew...The only current one I'd take first is Tom Brady...

If he played in Boston, he would already have worn that crown for the last several years. You're right, that is a shot at ESPN.

He is! Everytime I see the question Who is the best QB ever in here I have to answer him. He's an "old man" but look at him handle San Diego.
