How can I possibly convince my parents to let me gey a phone? I want one from Kajeet. I have $205.00 saved up, which could pay for the phone and about 14 months of service (and that's only now, I get tons of money from christmas). I don't understand why I can't get a phone. When I brought up the topic with my mom, she screamed at me and called my friend's parent's crazy for giving their kids cell phones. Just tell me how I can convince her that 1) i'm responsible enough, and 2) she won't pay for it.

if your under 18 you dont need a phone you just want it and i am sorry teenagers dont need phones unless you have jobs and kids and it sounds like you dont and the fact your looking for ways to ask says you arent mature enough for one. by the way 200 bucks will cover a month of service and a free phone. phones are expensive

I don't agree with the first person who answered. I think some teens need phones for emergencies. If my children are going to go out with friends (even if the friends parents are there) I would want them to have a phone just incase and to call me so often so I know everything is okay. Or if my children are going to ride the bus from school and they have to walk some distance I would want them to have a phone incase if something happens. There are many reasons for some children to have phones. They have those special ones that have like four buttons on there, one for home, mom's work, dad's work, and a 911 button. Or parents can get a prepaid phone so children cannot use up the minutes. Also the person who said 200 will only give you a month of service... well I would like to know what kind of service they have because apparently they are getting ripped off.

But since you have your own money saved up, and you want to pay for your own phone and service, then I dont see a problem. And you are responsible enough to even suggest buying it yourself and paying for it yourself.
