I dont understand why Americans are divided by political agendas. Republican, Democrate, Liberal, Left-Wing. Why dont we just say to hell with all of them and debate the issues as what we are, human beings.

It takes too much effort for most people.
Actually having to focus on the issues, and dealing with individuals and specific situations, requires far more effort than lumping everything together under one label and attacking the label.
Too many people don't want to put the effort into being precise, and actually trying to resolve issues on the merits of each argument. Which is unfortunate.

The vast majority of people posting on this site are being lied to and manipulated to by the people they are supporting. That is why the founding fathers built in checks and balances into a multi-party system. They admitted that politicians will always be politicians, and no party should ever have an absolute majority or they will just change the constitution to make themselves dictators (the first step will the the government not following a ruling by the Supreme Court).
Have a nice day!

Discussing the issues IS what separates us. Conservatives do not like change, while liberals are looking for other ways to change things...hopefully for the better. The platforms of the different political persuasions are most important. For instance, you can't vote FOR a Republican and then hope he follows the Democrat's platform, if that is your party. Debate is good, and intelligent people are open to new information that might affect their decisions. Rude, name-calling and degrading comments become part of the pre-election activity, and that is not productive, but it is human nature, I guess!

Good idea... It's mostly the media that tags people and ideas with various names. That and some people espousing various ideas are tied to one party or another... and various people have long been tagged with being either Liberal or Conservative. It does help somewhat to categorize the arguments so that one knows what one is talking about.
Part of the problem is that some tend to not discuss issues on facts and merits but attack with slander and character assassination to divert attention from the actual issues.

Buddy,
Segregation is telling black people to sit in the back of the bus.
The point of political parties and names is precisely to identify where a politician stands on the issues.
People who object to names are usually objecting to being called what they are.

i think it would work better if the country was split into groups of about 200 or so, and each group could work together, but also there would be cooperation between the groups, and that way every individual would be valued and would have a stronger voice than they do now - except the poor because their opinions don´t count
