I would love it if they havent cos i am gonna go nuts in the bank tomorrow!!

all the funds in the account are cleared, i am not waiting on any cheques!!

They have the right to withhold access to deposits for a specified time, for sure.

If that available funds is based on a deposit, then yes, they can stop you from taking that amount.

Since this is the weekend, did you try to pull money out of ATMs and the bank limited the total you could withdraw?

If that's the case, it is perfectly legal and normal.

When you go to that bank tomorrow, leave the attitude outside. Banks are more likely to have you taken out in handcuffs these days.

Well that depends. Do you have something pending to clear? If you do, they absolutly have the right to stop you. You should just go in their tomorrow, without an attitude, and find out what is happening. You should also change banks if it still sounds wrong.

most banks that i have dealt with will clear payroll and gov't checks immediately... but sometimes, personal checks that are not drawn from their bank or non-local checks may not be available until the funds are actually transferred (may take up to 7 days for smaller out-of-state banks)
