yea thats right now eliminate the logbase

(3x+2)/(x-2) = 2^3

3x+2)/(x-2)=8

3x+2=8 x -16

5 x = 18

x= 18 / 5

log [base 2] (3x+2)/(x-2) = 3, so

(3x+2)/(x-2) = 2 power 3, because the base goes right side

now (3x+2)/(x-2) = 8 => 3x+2 = 8(x-2) => 3x+2 = 8x-16

so 8x-3x = 2+16 => 5x = 18=> x = 18/5
