I just asked a question about my boyfriend moving in with me, and then it struck me - all, and I mean ALL of my mates, aged around 31, are with men who earn or have less than them. Interesting.

Relationships often break down and Society punishes men who earn more that their partners (it used to be that you had to be married before the guy lost half the House and half his Pension, but not anymore :-) )

High earning men with their own houses exist, however they no longer allow girlfriends to move in with them ..

I ain't sayin' he's a gold-digga,
But he ain't messing with no broke *****.

LOL!

I earn less than my partner, but that's because she is a teacher and part of their deal is generous pay increases in the first 5 years of their employment.

Two years ago I earned less than half what I make now and am still moving up the ladder, so it's hardly like I'm only with her for the cash. There isn't that much of a difference between up now to bother about.

However, if you're still with him in 2 years and he's still stacking shelves in Tesco, maybe it's time for a chat.

its definately more efficient, but socially its all down to opinion, some men would be very happy with that, even woman, but some men are proud and old fashion so they expect to provide and dominate ... and some women are just lazy lol

but i say "every little helps" lol

i think that is unusual. there is a lot of pay disparity among men and women. men usually earn 1/3 more for the same job a woman does.

maybe you have a group of strong professional g/f's ? are you in the same field ? co workers ?

It mightn't be the norm, but yes, it is more common now. Same situation in my house. Indeed, I have heard a solicitor advise one man to sit tight - he was on to a good thing.
