My period goes from heavy red blood, to lighter and lighter and brownish blood, and then a different kind which is light yellow and clear for a few days and then it all stops completely.

I am just asking because all of the red + the yellow/clear puts my period at 13-14 days long. Which I am told is too long. So I was wondering if I am supposed to count the non pink/red/brown days.

I'd say when you can go without tampons or pad's your period is done. But that's just me...

What exactly do you mean by discharge?

when i no longer have to use a tampon or pad---- usually i wear liners for a couple days after i think my period is over just to be on the safe side.

A period is one thing, a discharge is another. you could have a discharge while you have your period, but it has nothing to do with your period-it is a medical problem.

can you give some more information on why you're asking? I guess I never really thought about it.
