well if you want the hot air to stay in then yes. the back of the air conditioner dispells the hot air from the coils as it cools the air. yes the bucket collects the water that can be made but you need to get rid of the hot air.

no not at all, the "window" a/c is just as its name implies, for windows. If you were to place it on a table the amount of heat it discharges out the back will eventually over power the cool blowing out the front, because of the amount of energy used to run the compressor and pump the refrigerant throughout the a/c circuit.

You would be defeating the purpose of using the unit. Hot air from the compressor will heat the inside air.

no.the theory of refrigeration is not creating (cold)you are removing heat,or moving heat from on area to another in order for the a/c to work you have to move the heat away from you like out doors ,in a closed room the heat is just returned back yo the room ,although it will dehumidify the room you will get no cooling affect.

It wont do you any good,all you are doing is recycling the inside air,but whatever blows your skirt up I guess.
