I agree with a couple of the other answers. You grew up on mama's cooking so it's what you're used to.

Actually, I am a better cook than my Mom on most things. Only because I took what she taught me and expanded on it. I do love it when she visits for the winter and cooks for me though. All food tastes better if you don't have to prepare it yourself!!!

Usually because it's what you're used to. Anyway it isn't, always. My kids prefer Dad's Strange Ideas type cooking and so did I with my dad. Ever have microwave chicken patties with parmeson sauce?

simple, thats what you grew up with! No Woman's food will ever taste better, taste and smell are the best senses tied with memory, so more than likely her food reminds you of the happy times you had as a child!
