We got rid of most of our junk with giveaways and charitable donations. We once tried a garage sale but it was a major nuisance (even doing a joint garage sale with neighbors) that we would never do that again. We got pennies on the dollar and if you you count the effort to clean it, price it, tag it, and sit there arguing about its value it was a money loser.
We reached the conclusion that getting rid of it was more of an advantage than getting money for it. Now we try to get rid of stuff before it gets to be too much stuff laying around here.

A really warm double fronted padded coat with a hood that actually fitted for £3. I used it for dog walking for about 14 years. When he passed away at 17, I threw it away even though it was still in fairly good nick.

I've got a couple of daub type paintings that look like they have been done by a child, nonetheless some clown has signed them Gogh. People who collect autographs might pay me a tidy sum for them.

nothing as that is exactly what is it, junk, unless there are some very weird peopl who would like to buy crap thats sat in a damp cold place for the last 5 years.
