I read somewhere that she had children with demons. Anyone know who her children were?

Lilith did go back to Adam briefly, bore three sons: Shedim, Lilin, and Rauchin.

God didn’t originally intend to make woman. Adam asked for a companion, so God created Lilith out of the sediment and decay. All was well except for one thing: she refused to be subservient to Adam, arguing that she was created out of the same substance as he, and therefore equal. When he insisted, she flipped him off and ran for the Red Sea. There, the sea was full of demons, and she took the time to bear the lilim, yet another race of demons.

Adam, of course, went crying to God, who sent three angels to bargain with her: Senoy, Sansenoy, and Semangelof. She still refused and they swore that her children would be doomed to die.

Lilith still refused to return to Adam, accepting the angels’ price. However, she laid claim over the children of Adam, saying that within a number of days she would take their lives if she so chose.

Despite all this, legend states that she did go back to Adam briefly, and bore three sons: Shedim, Lilin, and Rauchin. These she took with her when she left the final time.

According to the many sources online that I consulted, Lilith was the first wife of Adam. They were both created from the dust. Lilith said that this made them equal. Adam didn't agree. They had the arguement about who should be on top during sex. Then Lilith got fed up with Adam and left Eden to live in a cave.

So, Adam and Lilith did not have children together.

Then the stories seem to diverge. Always 3 angels are sent after her to get her to return to Adam, but what they find, what happens differs.

Lilith Adams

Lilith was, in fact, the first wife of Adam. However, instead of being created out of Adam's rib (as was Eve), Lilith was created out of the same clay that Adam had been. Adam and Lilith fought because she refused to be beneath him (both literally, as in sexual positions, and figuratively) because she felt that because they were made from the same material, they were equals.

She fled the Garden of Eden, and upon Adam's request, the Lord sent 3 angels to bring her back. The angels found Lilith in cave bearing children (and I do not remember for sure how this came to be, my apoolgies) and told her the Lord's orders, but Lilith refused to come back. Because of her disobedience, the angels were to kill 100 of Lilith's children every day.

Once the angels left her, Lilith tried to return to the Garden of Eden, but found that Adam now had another mate in Eve. Lilith then had sex with Adam while he was asleep to steal his seed, which she uses to bear her own children, known as "lilim" and are earthly demons that replenish the 100 children of Lilith's that are killed each day by the angels.

The original Lilith of Jewish mythology was not an evil demon. She was worshipped as a mother goddess and a protectoress of mothers and infants. It was not until the patriachy took over that she was demonized and defiled her.

This is all so very fascinating. The way I read it is: God said in the 6th day of creation: Let us make man in our image. He did. He made man and woman and told them to re-produce and fill the Earth. That was the 6th day. God looked at what He had done and it was good. Then, came the 7th day. God rested and blessed it and made it his Sabbath. Then, on the 8th day, God planted the Garden of Eden. He created Adam so He would have someone to tend to His perfect garden. There was no living animal to be a companion for Adam so God took the Gene Chain and made Eve for Adam's companion. Now, after Eve sinned, God said her child-birth pains would be greatly increased. There has to be an "A" point, to be a "B" point.(increased) Supposedly, Adam and Eve were the only two people here (according to current teaching) Where did Cain get his wife ?? In the land of Nod. His wife came from the people from the 6th day creation. Cain was a grand-father before Adam and Eve had their 3rd son "Seth". Then, they had several sons and daughters.
I'm inclined to believe that Adam did have a first wife named Lilith. I am also inclined to believe they had children. I also believe the Garden of Eden was an (inner-circle of Elite and were a little more developed than the 6th day creation people. They were only supposed to tend the garden, not be subjected to the common people outside the garden.

I don't agree with the speaking of saying Lilith as first wife of Adam.... Because before Eve there was no woman. Some people said that "Adam requested from God a woman ..." but the Bible mentioned clearly that "... it is not good for the man to be alone ..." and then Eve was being created... The bible first mentioned the term woman is upon the creation of Eve...

Some even went on to say about mirror, which is entirely out. Coz during Adam's time, no mirror had yet been created...

Some say she had children from coupling with demons, she refused to couple with Adam. However, since Christians call all of the Old Gods demons, the children Lilith had would have been demigods. Her children, in turn, would have had children with the issue of Adam and Eve. No matter the complaints that will be made by some of the above explanation, it would resolve the problems of inbreeding.

Anything you say about the Bible will depend on which version and translation you are reading from. Many English translations are very vauge on the subject of Cain's wife. A few are quite specific that Cain was cast out from the garden and went to live in the land of Nod and that he took a wife from among the people who were already living there.

The vaugness may be intentional because mentioning that there were already people living outside the Garden of Eden who were not related to Adam and Eve creates a contridiction in the Bible. It also leaves it open to interpetation that it is possible there are people living on Earth today that may not be related to Adam and Eve, the "other people". Some Jewish folktales have made a link that these other people who lived in Nod before Cain left the Garden of Eden may have been children of Lillith.

I have heard and read the jewish folklore on Lilith and yes it is true that she is named in the bible as a demon. Also if you read Genesis 1:26-28 you see that God creates man in his own image, "male and female he created them". Eve isn't created until Genesis2:21-25. So technically you could assume that Adam had another wife although she is not named specifically. And yes many different stories from many different religions/cultures have Lilith as a demon or banshee type that does have children with demons. As far as who her children were I don't know. When the Watchers ( fallen angels ) or Nephilim fell to Earth to have mortal women as wives, they had offspring that were supposed giants. So maybe her children were that way too.

Hmm Lilith is definitely extraBiblical, so I wouldn't place too much stock in that story. However, later on in Genesis it does say that the "sons of God" (presumably demons, not really related to God but were given that nomenclature by the people at the time) walked with the daughters of men and their offspring were evil giants. Then the flood came and wiped away all of those lineages.

Giants popped up again after the flood in several places (Anakim, Goliath, Og) so it is possible that what happened before the flood may have happened again.

Someone correctly pointed out that only Abel, Cain, and Seth were written about (Abel of course didn't survive very long historically speaking). No daughters are mentioned but of course they had to be there. Geneologists estimate that Adam & Eve had 30 sons and daughters after Seth to produce the kind of population that was in effect at the time of the Flood. Concerning incest, there was no rule against incest at this time because the DNA started (perfect before the fall of man) at Adam & Eve and inbreeding would not create genetic anomalies until many further generations had succeeded.
