because they have nothing better to do, their lives are lousy, so they will make fun of others so they can feel big, when they are very small like a bug

There is still discrimination here in America, but not nearly to the extent that was practiced back in the 1st half of the 20th century. The discrimination is not sanctioned by law. Racism is in the mind, and it is not possible to force a change of beliefs by simply outlawing certain practices. However, times are certainly better than they were before.

Regarding the "mexican immigrants" that you refer to, if they come in legally, I have no problem with them. But I don't want people coming here illegally.

That is a deep question, and you will get many responses. One reason is that many things that are not racist, gets labeled racist. We live in a society that thrives on racism, and uses it as a crutch in many faces. Not all, I do agree very much that there is racism. But true racism comes from hate of others. And usually hate of others come because people have been taught by their parents and society to hate. And hate is all many know. This is unfortunate I know, the real question is how do we end racism. And that answer will be answered when the end of time begins and people have no choice than to be good/meek.

There are still racist people in this world, yes, and that will never change. Most of it is sheer ignorance. However, some people have been traumatized by events in their lives or even just in the world caused by people of different races, and therefore that gives them a bad impression of those races. Example being, if someone is raped by a Mexican man, they will most likely be leary of Mexican men for the rest of their life. And if someone is robbed by a white man with a beard, that person may be leary of white men with beards for the rest of their life. There are many stereotypes in this world that are based on race, and all one can do to change them is to represent themselves as they would want their race to be seen. For example, it is a fact that most of the people in correctional facilities in the US are black men. So, if you are a black man, don't commit crimes. You are representing your race well, and though people will still be racist and probably profile you before they even talk to you, you are not contributing to the justification of their ignorance.

People are taught to hate, subtly, it can start as innocent as you hearing a relative say something derogatory when you're young, then finding out what that meant when you're older, or growing up in a blatant racist environment. There are tons of movies out (Rosewood) that have a significant historic value, but may also piss a certain race off to hate their former oppressors all over again, as far as immigrants coming over, most people don't have a problem with it as long as they do it legally. it's simple, we have laws, and they need to be obeyed. Pay your money, take the test and we'll greet you with open arms

I think that it is the way people are raised. It is the hatred that their parents teach them. Also some of those people think that we owe them something. We were not here then and did not own slaves, take peoples land, etc. yet they think that we should pay for it and that causes problems. If everybodys roots are traced back the majority of them had things done to them that were not right. It is over and we can not change it so we need to let it go.

Basically its people in society that i refer to as "Copy Cats". You will find that your opinions on a certain race or religion depends on the social group you are in, many people just do it to follow there social group, then find themselves becoming use to being racist. Its simply a way to take out your anger on someone you refer to as different, You may find it is because they are jealous of the race or religion, That they dont have lives like the people they mock. The reason we havent changed is because these social groups evolve, get bigger and stronger, because thats what its about. Power!

If the immigrants came here and become citizens then maybe americans wouldn't get so upset. They work for minimum wage, taking jobs away from americans. They also have no health insurance so when they get sick the working american has to pay for their medical care.

Come here legally, get a job and you will fit in as an AMERICAN!

What do the *illegal* Mexican immigrants have to do with racism? If Americans were illegally immigrating to Mexico, you think Mexico would be happy about it? I understand that racism is a problem but it's not exactly relevant when it comes to illegal immigrants.

People are racist even within their own race. It's a sad reality, but all we can do is try not to be like that ourselves. If we start by stopping that within ourselves, at least there will be less racist people around the world.
