I would recommend hooking up with other decorators from the UK and asking them what they may have that they would want to get rid of.

http://www.PlanetChristmas.com is an international forum of Christmas Decoration enthusiasts. Not only will you have some of the best minds in the world (regarding Christmas Decorating) to ask questions, but you will also be able to take advantage of the privileges of membership.

If you join, you will not be spammed or harassed.

I am also including links to various websites of Decorators from the UK so you can get some decoration ideas.

The Range is a good place to buy lights, the design depends on what you are looking for. Why dont you try putting xmas outdoor decorations in the images serch engine and see what comes up. Good luck

Best thing is to 'map' out the patterns you wish to make and measure the areas you are covering. Make sure that the electrical system on your home can handle the power surge. Talk to others who have decorated with lots of lights to get suggestions. Sounds like fun, enjoy and be careful!

I second the idea of charity shops. Occasionally they can be had at boot sales, but not as often.
Father Christmas will undoubtedly appreciate your efforts as he aims for a good landing!!

I know what you mean, I would LOVE to decorate my house like the Griswald family house in "National lampoons christmas vacation"...I love that film..... but sadly I don't have a home that looks anything like that, I'm stuck in a middle terrace, wouldn't look quite the same somehow....oh poor me lol
