I wonder how tall you are? Getting stronger is good to a certain extent, but can reduce your quickness and endurance if you get too big, not to mention your flexibility. Protein shakes won't do much for you unless you are already not eating enough protein. To get stronger you need to spend 5-7 hours a week in the weight room lifting heavy weights with plenty of stretching to keep flexible. This extra exercise will require extra calories or you will end up losing weight. Try to add anywhere from 500-1000 extra calories a day to your diet with your new exercise regime. These calories should come from a mixture of lean protein, fruits/veggies and grains.

you could take protein on a daily bases its not a steriod and you won't get addicted it helps build up muscle faster
