My baby is 9 months old and has her 2 bottom teeth should I be giving her finger foods I feel as if though she may choke should I hold off till she gets more teeth. Even with her baby food I give her 8 month food but I still puree it cause she gags on it otherwise.

Don't worry about forcing her to have finger-foods before she is ready. You can keep giving her the Stage 1 baby-foods for awhile longer if you like then you don't have to puree anything. However, Gerber has finger foods (stars and wagon wheels) which are fruit flavored and dissolve in the baby's mouth. I gave my daughter those and she loved them and never choked because they dissolve. When you're not sure, put an item in your mouth without chewing and see how it dissipates or dissolves and then decide if you should give it to your daughter. Good luck!

You said it yourself- she gags. That means she is not ready. Let her show signs of readiness... grasping items between her thumb and forefinger, sitting up on her own, crawling with her belly off the ground.

i would start with something soft that she can suck and chew on like a finger of toast, you will probably be quite surprised how well she manages it.
just make sure she is supervised
