The resturant needs to be sort of fancy, but not too much, and it can't be a steakhouse, because somebody in our group is a vegetarian. Basically, no fast food.

I have a friend who's a vegetarian, so it can't be a steakhouse. I also want it to be a little nicer than, say, Applebees or Chiles. And we're in Omaha, NE.

Well, there is always the Chili's, Applebee's type of route.

Something some of my friends have done is have dinner at the home of one of the group. One time the parents agreed to 'host' the event. They created a menu ahead of time and everyone placed their 'order' (from a 'menu' of 2-4 choices) by mid-week. They set up their living room with all the good china, flowers, candles, etc. One of the parents played several instruments so they provided the music. Parents came dressed in white shirt, black pants, tie and apron and served.

It really went over well. Plus they were sure to get all of the pictures of the group this way. OH, and the group contributed money toward the purchase of the food for the evening. (several said it was cheaper, and better!, than any restaurant in town)

When the group went off to the dance, the parents all stayed together, ate leftovers, cleaned up, etc.

"Ruby Tuesday" has a great selection of salads, pasta, steak chicken, ribs etc. They would be able to cater to almost all dietary specifications. They're in the same price range as TK Tripps, Outback, Olive Garden. etc.

go to a italian restaraunt. they have great salads and have a vegatarian menu. if your freind is veagan just tell them to take all dairy and honey ingrediants for your vegan freind. if your freind cant find something she likes on the vegatarian menu ,then just get a salad or look at the rest of the menu and tell them to take stuff off she/he doesnt like

look into a nice local Italian restaurant in your vicinity. they tend to be elegant enough, but usually affordable, and you can always get pasta without meat. good for everybody. have fun.
