how do you solve a problem in y=mx+b form

Hi,
I'm a little uncertain about exactly what you want since you ask about graphing systems of equations and then you ask how to "solve" a single equation in slope-intercept form. But I'll take a shot at it. I'll assume you have at least one equation of a system in that form and you want to graph it along with another equation to find where the solution which is the intersect.
Assume you have this equation:
y = 2x + 3
Just select some values of x and solve for y: (The dots are only there to maintain spaces.

-------------

------------
....2..|...7

Now, plot those on your graph paper and draw a straight line through them.
