Some people are magnificent actors. They could win an acadamy award with the performance they give.

We all have a social mask to some degree.

Some people with a low self esteem over compensate and become bombastic and egocentric.

Quiet confidence is the key.

Loud confidence is not REAL.

Quiet confidence needs no justification. It just IS.

If you study body language you can usual call them pretty early.

I guess in short, the answer to your question is YES.

Yes.
Example: Someone who speaks philosophically and seems to have all the right answers (for questions you don't even ask) appears to have high self-esteem, but then why do they always have to beat a subject into the ground? If they were so confident in their intelligence, they wouldn't have to constantly prove to the world that they are intelligent.

Unfortunately, this is sometimes the case. The people that strike me as likely candidates are those that bully others, or like to put other people down. Making other people feel bad helps them to feel better about themselves because they can then say at least they are better than them.
These people often seem popular to outsiders, but a lot of people dont actualy like them, they just respect them because they are the "top bully" or whatever.

If people are able to show their feelings and stick up for themselves, it shows they have a better self esteem than some people.

Quite a few people I've met who appear to have a very high self-esteem are just faking it. Doing a darned fine job too..

Absolutely. In fact it is a very common coping device for those who have low self esteem to overcompensate by being braggarts and having false bravado. Most confident people are not as brash. True humility requires confidence and self-esteem.

Appearence is what we are drawn to the most in our life. It's easy to envy what we don't have or don't know until we get closer to it to truly understand what's in front of us. Some people know how to wear mask to appear what they are not. But the truth ends up revealing their true nature. So a person can appear but soon will be discovered.

Yes I believe it may be a form of "over compensation". Sometimes people who bully people and humiliate others do it because they are inferior, they know they are inferior but they get satisfaction by ripping someone else down.

yes.........besides......self esteem is more like a habit......if you try to act like a person with a high esteem after a while you will end up with a high self-esteem.
