The mice are looking for a warm winter home. You need to search the house for even small openings they can get in through. Holes around waterlines are a good entry point. I use steel wool for plugging holes since the mice will not chew through it.

Using steel wool to plug holes is a great idea. It works. If you do get some in the house, just put peanut butter on the trap. When you have caught a mouse, throw the trap away too. Traps are 3/$1.00 at the dollar store. Put out about 6 to start.

From personal experince I can sympthize with you the same thing happened to me when we first built our house, and for several years until I discovered the secret weapon, those sonic things won't work so don't waste your money, poision kills them and they die in your house and they stink, they come in because it's cold outside and it's warm and dry in your house, and theres food in there!! My secret weapon, is a good mouse catching cat, we went to a farmers house and got a young cat that had been living out in their barn (friendly one don't get a wild one) our mouse problem was non existant within a couple of weeks, MyLee is the best answer to our mouse problem
