I guess, India, Pakistan and Mexico

I am amazed! I learn something new every day! I did not know that American and British cooking were the worst in the world. In my world travels Spanish cooking is the most bland and boring and unappetizing. Mexican cooking is also pretty unappealing for the most part.

Now all of this is a question of personal prefernce, but my favorite national cooking style is probably German, followed closely by Polish. Also I had some extraordinarily tastey food in China.

The most over rated cuisine, I think, is French.

I like Italian food, but there is nothing wrong with british cooking (our traditional foods might be really unhealthy, but who cares), and it's not about the countries, its about the chefs, and good chefs come from all over the world.

France has some pretty messed up stuff though. Like you order a pork steak, and you get a big lunk of meat with a bone through it, loads of fat, the skin hasn't been taken off (and the skin is covered in hairs). Thats just not on.

So who's this "everybody"? People who say "everyone" knows something usually don't know their butt from a bag of frogs about what they're blithering about, and that would apply to you. American cooking is the best in the world. Steaks, BBQ, apple pie - no comparison. Many cuisines from around the world are wonderful - I especially love Middle Eastern and all sorts of Italian food (not American drenched-in-marinara sauce food).

BUT - mess with my grandma's cooking, bud, you're asking for trouble.

British cooking is probably the best in the world as we have taken the best from other cultures over the centuries and added it to our own and improved upon it as for American cooking well they are a law unto them selves

Britain is actually a country with great cuisine, it's just it gets a bad press. French and English foods are very similar (believe me, I lived in France and dated a Michelin starred chef) the only difference is the french are very arrogant about their food and the English believe what they say.
A good lamb roast with all the trimmings is the best thing.
However saying that, the problem may lay not with the food but with the cook. Maybe we all could take some cookery lessons.

Well, I tell you, you must never have eaten good old Southern American home cooking. Tell me now, what can beat fresh veggies from the garden, cornbread hot out of the oven with lots of butter, homemade fried chicken, not that mess from KFC, and a big ole slice of red velvet cake and a big glass of sweet tea?

Not to mention sausage gravy, homemade biscuits and eggs fried overeasy?

It's interesting that France always claims to be the best, but their national dish is steak-frites. Grilled steak is an English invention and chips came from Belgium. Italian cooking is the longest.

Everybody knows???...I don't think so, some of the best chefs (Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey etc come from here).
Asian curries are hot to disguise the 'stuff' that's put in them.
Italian and French cuisine use too much cheese and vinegar (which I hate).
Give me old fashioned Welsh cooking any day.

I love Hungarian foods and Thai or Japanese.
I think Hungarian food has something for just about everyones taste, from hot and spicy to simple creamed vegatables. The pastry and deserts are fantastic.Fresh made fruit ice creams and wonderful rich fruity wines.
There aren't many Hungarian restaurants in most cities so many people are not familiar with their dishes,it is too bad.
