I like mimes, but I really hate clowns, and always have. I prefer quiet and mellowness, not loudness and fast movement, so that may be what makes the difference.
Think about it ... if you are 'terrified of mimes' there must be 'something else' in you that correlates with that ... and by the way, I actually prefer warm jackets, but would like a cool one for warmer weather ... can you tell me where to find a nice one?

Having recently learned that Marcel Marceau, the world's most famous mime, just passed away, it saddens me to answer your question. Like clowns, mimes are misunderstood, often made fun of for their look, and classified as 'creepy.' Its a sophisticated art form meant to entertain. When you see a really great mime, you can't help but be amazed at how surreal and mysterious his movements are. Under all that make-up is a person who just wants to entertain you.

i live in a small town and we don`t have mimes. we do have my crazy neighbor that hangs out at the convenience store wearing a pink bikini and mismatched shoes. i am afraid of her, and also carneys .
