Irrespective of what happened there, it was addressed by Drutharaashtra as 'Dharmakshetra', with no knowledge that Bhagavatgeeta is going to be preached there and even before the first ball was bowled in the bout. Kurukshetra was situated between two sacred rivers: the Jumna and the Saraswati in the Northwestern part of India. A river is perpetually sacred. A river houses water. Water signifies consciousness in the domain of spirituality. And this consciousness is always pure, unalloyed, sanctifying and energising. So we now come to learn why Kurukshetra was called dharmakshetra and not otherwise". @@a p e Sacrifice here means, 'Yagyas', not the sacrifice of any life or deaths in war that is being talked about by the Sawimiji.
