As far as The Doors song goes, that is EXACTLY what Jim was talking about. The real definition of mojo is a type of magic charm, often of red flannel cloth and tied with a drawstring, containing botanical, zoological, and/or mineral curios and petition papers. Its roots are from Africa.

A mojo is an item (or items) that has been charmed (blessed) by a voodoo priest. It is usually kept in a bag that is worn on the body of the person it belongs to. It can give that person good luck, or it can give his enemies bad luck. In the song by Jim Morrison where he says his mojo is rising, it means that his mojo is becoming stronger.

I'm not exactlt sure, but Mr. Mojo Risin' is one one Jim's nicknames, like The Lizard King. I think it's an anagram of Jim Morrison.

edit
I looked it up and it says that "Mojo is a religious term describing shamanic "power icon" or affiliation. The African root Mo refers to the dark or darkness. Mojo is a specific African/Voodoun/Obeah traditional term."
