Horses have pretty big toofies in they mouths.
I think they can handle the task of chewing up a carrot peel, its not much tougher than dried out old hay, which they eat all the time, no problems at all.

Whatever would make you think even for one minute that a raw, unprepared carrot's tiny little thin skin would pose any difficulties to a hungry horse?

Have you even seen a horse eating things before? They aren't shy about munching out.

No, but it's nice to wash the sand or dirt off it first. When you give it to the horse, lay it flat on your palm and hold your palm outstretched, so the horse can pick the carrot up from your flattened palm. You would be amazed at how many people have lost the end of a finger because they held the carrot in their fingers and presented it to the horse. Those teeth are VERY strong and the jaws are VERY powerful and the horse has no idea he is biting your hand, so play it safe.
If you think about it, the way the horse's eyes are arranged on its head, it can't really see what is in front of its mouth, so it isn't being mean when it bites you, just taking a good chomp out of whatever happens to be there, and if that includes your fingers, well that's too bad for you.

No. You can just feed it to them whole. But most horses like the carrot broken up to smaller pieces.

If you want to. Guess some will still have insecticide on so a wash or a pealing might be better for their health. If you buy organic just feed it o natural.

Nope. They don't care. However, mine have stated implicitly that they prefer those "baby" carrot things from the store. They are prewashed and prepeeled. And they expect to have their own little bag, no sharesies. And the foals must have theirs mashed up well....

Wash it thoroughly and keep the peel. There are important nutrients in the peel.
