I used to work for a company down in Alabama and there was times that I thought you had to have gotten some kind of degree to be able to translate it, especially if they were excited!!

I have lived in Texas all of my life and I have never heard anyone talk like that in Texas. For the life of me, I could never understand why Northerner's think that people from the south talk funny with thick southern accents until I drove through Arkansas. That is the only place I have ever heard people talk like that.

I lived in the south for a few years. Southerners are some of the sweetest people.... I got used to the talk and thought it was really cute. Also quite fond of the Boston and Long Island accents.... as well as the Scottish.... oh and the Australian .... accents and languages are fascinating.

Yeah, I'm a Mississippi Girl and it's kind of like a different language. When you're born and raised here you just get it. I love to here people from other area's talk. Especially Louisiana.

Absolutely. A VIP once asked me where the toilets were at a function. I asked "I beg your pardon?" about four times, trying very hard to understand him. Eventually he said "The L-A-V-A-T-O-R-Y" It must have been more embarrassing for him than it was for me.

When I was a kid, we took a trip south. I didn't understand a word anyone said in Georgia. But it sure was "purty"!
