Do you think I am in good shape to win the hockey pool? Points only, goalies 2 points for a win, 3 points more for a shutout.

Bob, only points count, nothing else. The goalies are esentially players with wins counting for 2 points and shutouts for 3. As long as Caro and Col have good seasons their goalies will get me 60-70 points easily.
As for Wellwood, he was my second last pick. We are playing with $20 buy in, no trades, no waiver pickups. I knew about Wellwood going in. If he gets healthy, I can insert him in. I don't really need him at the start of the season because I have 12 healthy forwards without him1, and I only need 10.

Also, no games limit, you can change your roster every Sunday.

I like your forwards.
If Spezza and Gaborik can both stay healthy for a full year you'll be fine. I also have very high expectattions for Connolly. Ruff has told him that he will be expected to carry a lot of the leadership role and that he expects him to pick up points too.

I think your goaltending is good because I think Colorado will win a lot of games, and if SPCT and GAA don't count, I think Budaj is attractive.

The defence is a bit weak. But I assume you can make trades and shore this up as the season moves along.

Depending on the composition of other teams, I think your team is in good shape. They certainly won't be trailing the field.

And as Bob says, drop Wellwood.

Impossible to answer that question. I have Malkin ranked higher than Spezza-just slightly. Kovulchuk and Gaborik were steals at 28 and 33 and I don't have Gomez in the top 50.
Too many variables like does someone else have a better roster, how is your goaltending etc.
