UFOs are shaped that way because that's an ideal shape for flight. Think of Frisbees, trash can lids, paper plates, cooking pot lids and saucers of course... and then think of tossing them in the air and taking a picture.
The saucer shape is also typical of lenticular clouds, atmospheric distortions of heat and objects at a distance and the remainder is up to the imagination, mistaken identity, willful prevarication, alcohol and drugs.

Not all UFOs are saucer shaped. In fact the Kenneth Arnold UFOs were not saucer shaped. This description came from his describing their motion of skipping saucers across the water. They were in fact more triangles shape - much like the stealth bomber looks today. Triangle shapes, cigar shapes, and others have been reported. (the first drawings made look very boomerang shaped).
I doubt a pyramid would be very aerodynamic (fly easily).
They are not President Bush shaped because the aliens after careful observation wanted crafts that worked, were intelligent, responded to the users needs and desires, and had instructions written in a proper language none of which are properties of the President Bush shape.
I have included a link to MUFON for you below.

although we can't replicate it.... theoretically, a disc would be the most efficient deisgn for flying, through atmospheres or space. just think how much farther a frisby flies then a paper plane.... even if the weight is exactly the same, there's no way you'll ever get that plane to glide anywhere near as far as you can get the disc to go. also, there's a another phenomenon less people know about... USO's.. unidentified submersible objects... most of these are disc shaped as well, and again, this is the most effecient deisgn, in terms of resistence. our subs use torpedo shapes becuase they are designed to go straight.... the stream line body is extremely efficient in this, but if you were to just try and push it sideways you'd find it phenomenally more difficult... the saucers design allows them to move in any dirrection (other then straight up or down)with an equal ammount of resistence... and as we've seen in so many videos, these saucers don't generally fly in a striaght line... they move in all directions "A disk is actually a poor shape for flying. If you want evidence of that, check how many planes (or space craft) are made in that shape. Billions of dollars are spent to get efficient workable shapes" a disk isn't a good shape for flying with OUR technology... that's a big diffrence from it's a poor shape period....

I think the one's documented in the late forties flying near Seattle were 5 boomerang type. Probably just depends on the species who makes the craft. Unsolved mysteries had a huge block type one ( computer animated one, based on police and eyewitness testimony) That flew over some American small town.( I can't remember which town.) The large hurricane on Jupiter and now Saturn are supposed to be discarded Great Arks. Lm/Sm.

Actually, there have been reports of triangle shaped, cylinder shaped and other shaped UFOs.

Well I talked with my alien friend, but he talked too fast and all I got were words like aerodynamics, center of pressure, momentum, turbulence, center of gravity, mass and free space. Did you get anything out of that? I sure didn't.

You should ask their engineer's...
Like our aircraft, it has to do with the technology their using.
Us is aerodynamics... while maybe their's is spacialdynamics..
