I take it by Football you mean Rugby.

That's not football, and neither is the sport Americans call football.

As for why you only like it when the world cup is on .... you are, and this is a pure guess, probably from one of the lesser nations that only get rugby coverage during the WC.

Either that, or it's the whole WC fever that seems to attach itself to all sports.

EDIT: Ermmm, I'm English - but it's still not the Football World Cup at the minute, it's the Rugby World Cup & Cricket 20/20.

Unless you are talking about the Womens World Cup, and England got knocked out of that, in the 1/4 final, yesterday - so I can't see why there would be any excitement and patriotism today (todays games were Brazil-Australia & Norway-China)

It's still the best we've ever done.

So I'd say the dimwit here, if there is one, is yourself - for 1) not specifying Womens World Cup and 2) not posting in the correct section, the Football one

It's because the rest of the time it's kind of boring but when it's the world cup everyone gets involved because it's great fun. World Cup 2006 was one of the best months I've ever had, as I was in Germany at the time, you just couldn't help getting swept up in it all. If football could be all about the world cup, and I could take away all the domestic leagues, the big-headed players and managers, and of course, the whopping pay-cheques for doing comparatively little for humanity, I'd do it in a second. Of course, a lot of my friends would kill me...

The FIFA World Cup is in 2010. What are you watching today - the Rugby World Cup? Whatever you're watching enjoy it and pay no attention to these Jackasses.
