i think everybody does at one point or another. there are just some great people in this world..funny, interesting, intelligent who seem like they have the best personality in the world. but the reality is that everybody also has "flaws" in their personality. so nobody is really perfect, and since you can't become someone else, its best just to be yourself.

All the time.

I have a handful of medical problems and they have shaped a lot of who I am able to be.

Beyond those limitations, I have never felt the need to not shift my personality if I felt the need. In fact, I try to wear personalities like I wear moods; the more I am able to express, the better I find I know myself.

The best way I have found to try out a new personality is to think of someone I know who has that personality. I try to think of what they might do in whatever situation I am in and I do it. You're not going to be stuck with new personalities you try, so feel free to experiment.

If applicable, tell close friends and family what is going on. Something like "I'm trying an experiment where I try a new personality for a week. I'd love feedback." If you then want to try another, just switch and say "a new week, a new personality!" Keep a journal to help you remember the results and feedback of each personality.

Mike

P.S. Be careful. New personalities can be intoxicating. Before you switch, write a short list of things you're not okay doing. Think along the lines of drugs, sex, and the law.

I totally understand you.
I never was happy the way i was.
Why couldn't i be more outgoing?
Why do i always have that jealous feeling?
Why can't i stop crying over little things?
Why am i so judgemental?

i always wonder why.
but the thing is, you can't do much by wishing.
start by trying. just little steps can lead on to a big path.
trust me.
