I can't stand it. I've been rocking short hair for a while and all the guys said that I look better with long hair and it more sexy. Whatever! I can still look good with a short do! I still stop traffic. It's getting on my nerves. The guy I'm kinda dating right now says that long hair is apart of a woman's beauty and he said that I look pretty either way but he really wants me to have long hair.

because they need extra help to remeber that girls and boys are different- meaning they need a reminder that they are not a woman. they want women to be traditional.they think that long hair defines femininity-your long hair makes them feel more manly. they don't know what a lot of work long hair is. more work for a woman to make herslf into the image she thinks a man wants her to be. - if he wants you in long hair- he should buy you a wig - a nice high quality expensive beautiful wig- then you can have the best of both - long hair and short hair

Well for awhile, long hair has been associated with beauty and femininity of a woman. Just look at books, movies, and art women with long hair was always consider beautiful. Short hair really wasn't associated with a female until recently. But I think short is is cute and sexy on some women because it suits their face and make their features stand out. It is all a matter of preference. Just keep rocking your short hair.

Ha, I have the same problem. I've had long hair since I was seven, and recently cut it all off because it makes me look older and its easier to fix. Some guys, I've noticed, don't like it as much. But also, there arn't a lot of those beautiful sexy models and actors with short hair. So I say we've gotta bring it into the mainstream - I think shorts the best way to go!

I think it's pretty much the way the media works. Not only are men obsessed with long hair (because that's all you see in the media), but most Americans are obsessed with being slim (because of the media). Also, most men do not want to lose their hair at all. Hair is a symbol of youth, of beauty (for women), and virility (for men)--supposedly.
Also historically, most of the paintings and statues of women you saw from Europe had women with long hair. And of course, in the USA, all we were taught was European history.Thus, most men are subconsciously affected by the long hair archetype for a woman, whether they know it or not.

For what it's worth, I think short hair looks fantastic on loads of women. I do know that not it really doesn't appeal to some men though, and I really don't know why. Presumably it's cultural.
On the other hand: maybe long hair just happens to suit you better. You may look sexy with short hair, but what if you look SUPER-sexy with long hair?
I dunno. But I do know that short hair looks great on some girls.

Cut it all off, that will teach him a lesson. Although a buddy of mine said he was dating a girl who was bald and something happened, I'm not going to get into it, but let's say they were having grown up fun and he looked down and he saw her bald head and it was like a dude down there. He broke up with her after that. He said the thought was freaking him out!
Lesson here fellas, if she's bald, keep your eyes closed. LOL

I'm all for the shoulder or shoulder-blade length hair... too long can cause problems when you're in a bedroom situation (oww!!! you're on my hair!) and too short just really doesn't appeal to me.

Girls who can make it work with short hair are REALLY cute, but the truth is, most girl cant pull it off. Just like most girls cant pull off the bald headed look.
