Amniocentesis is expensive, $1500-2000 and your insurance probably won't cover it unless you have a medical reason, and you would probably need pre-authorization.
You don't say why you need the procedure, or DNA testing. There are risks associated with amniocentesis, including miscarriage. I would not take the chance if I were you.

Probably pretty expensive. Why do you need a DNA test done prior to the baby being born? If you're having the amnio done only for this purpose, it isn't worth the money OR the risk to the baby. But if you're having an amnio done anyway for a MEDICAL reason, then ask your doctor how much extra it costs to run the DNA test.

It depends on how much your insurance will cover. You really should only do an amnio if there is a medical reason as to necessity. Amnio's always pose a risk to the fetus.
