yes a animal dreams. i thought my dog was having a seizure while he was sleeping so i called the vet and he told me that animals have dreams not to panic. also i have squirrels that dream and hamsters dream too. 9 times out of 10 if something jumps or flinches in his/ her sleep and they dont wake up they r dreaming.

I don't believe that all the animals dream, but my dog sometimes moves and growls in her sleep. I don't know possibly what in the world she could be dreaming of but I think something is going on up there.

And since monkeys are so genetically close to us on the chain and since we dream I am sure that monkeys have some thoughts of dreaming at night lol.

They sure look like they do when they are sleeping. They can't tell me if they are, so I can't say for certain sure, but don't see why not. I would think anything with a brain is capable, we should not treat ourselves as so special and exclusive. And as for daydreaming and dreaming about the future...why not?? Ever seen an animal plot to get something? I have. It surely took some forethought to acheive this behavior.
And I am extremely well versed in the sciences. Doesn't make me change my mind one bit. Like I say, until we can absolutely communicate, we have no business making negative assumptions about animal's abilities.

I think most do. The reason; the brain is active even during sleep to get vitals working properly. So, any thing with a brain may dream. It may not be like people dreams. But, it seems to me, if there is brain activity there has to be some amount of thought processes going on, though they may be more limited to the animal/birds brain capacity.

Of course animals dream! Have you ever watched a dog sleeping? Its legs will twitch and it will ocasionally growl and bark or whine. It is pretty cute actually. I am unsure of cats, horses, and all those other animals because I've mostly been a dog person, having owned five dogs. I'va also had three hamsters, but they aren't as much fun to watch!

I've seen my rats, dogs, and rabbit dreaming. Their feet'll twitch and they'll sometimes make noises and chew on nothing. It's cute. XD

I'd like to watch my snake dream, but it's just so hard to tell when he's asleep! (y'know, the whole no eyelids thing ^^;)

I know my dogs and cats dream for sure. They move their legs and make noises while they are sleeping, like they are chasing something. I think animals dream in pictures and dream about things they like to do.

I don't know about other animals, but i know that dog do. Scientists recently discovered that dogs have the same part of their brain as humans, the emotional part. They are just like humans, who can't speak English, and also who are in a different body form. So, if humans dream, then dogs do too. Also, sometimes, my dog has nightmares. He used to wake me up crying. When I went to him, his eyes were closed and he wouldn't react when I called his name. Then one time I screamed his name, and he woke up really startled.

Absolutely! Both my dogs and cats dream. Unlike people, animals tend to act out their dreams. You will see their paws moving, sometimes they will vocalize, and you can see the eyes twitching. When people dream, our bodies naturally go into a sort of trance so we cannot injure ourselves by lashing out. Animals don't have this as strongly, so you can watch them as it happens.
