A few Pieces of equipment. A backhoe for digging, a front end loader to scoop up the pile of dirt you will make, and a dump truck to haul the extra dirt away.

Depends on how much you want to do yourself. You can use a tractor with a back ho, or.......shovel. Of course, the shoveling would take you a lot longer. My dad must have been a toughie because the room I am sitting in he dug the foundation with a shovel in the 1960's
