DH and I just found out that we're going to be having a baby. These are the names that we like at the moment and I was wondering what you all think, or if you have any other name suggestions...

For a girl:
Rhianna Jean or Rachel Katherine

For a boy:
Ryan Wesley

Edited to add:

Jean is my middle name, as well as my mom's.
Ryan is DH's middle name
Wesley is my brother's middle name
Rachel is DH's sister #1's middle name
Katherine is DH's sister #2's middle name

:)

Rhianna comes from Rhiannon, though Rhiannon Jean Rutherford doesn't sound half as good, so I chopped it off into Rhianna instead :)

Just wanted to clarify since people were talking about how common Rachel and Ryan are.

Edited one more time:

And I had no idea that there was a pop star named Rhianna. lol.

This is why I decided to ask opinions. *grins* I might have to think on that one a little harder now.

I'll pass on the girls name....and naming your kid Rhianna is nearly as bad as naming her Madonna.

The boys name is good, though. Sounds strong.

Oh! Mazel tov on the new baby! I love the boy's name, can't say much for the girl's name. It's just that I've met way too many people named Rachel or Katherine. I like Rhianna though, but I believe it's spelled Rihanna, like the singer. If you want to find more baby names, this website has a wide variety of great baby names http://www.babynamesworld.com/

Hope that helps. Best of luck!

I'd choose Rachel Katherine over Rhianna Jean. Have you considered Rhiannon? If it works with your last name, I'd pick Rhiannon over Rachel/Rhianna.

Ryan Wesley is nice.

I LOVE them. Just wanted to say that I love Rachel Katherine or even Rhianna Katherine. A lot of people steer away from more traditional names now, which means your baby will have a unique name! Also, I love Katherine, as Katherine of Aragon, the first wife of King Henry VIII was such a wonderful and strong woman, who also had much love for God and the church itself. Katherine implies to me strength, humility and courage. Good luck with your new little precious baby boy or girl! Wanted to add that another name I love is Treasure LaShayne. I wanted to name my last child that but her father wanted to name her Angel Rashelle, which now I couldn't imagine her being anything else but Treasure LaShayne was what I had planned the whole time.....

Rhiannon is a perfectly good name. Don't bastardize it. I think Rhiannon Jean sounds lovely, but Rachel Katherine is better. I like Ryan Wesley, too.

I like Rachel Katherine better than Rhianna Jean.
Rhianna is based on a popular singer, which is why I wouldnt use it bcause it's jsut following the crowd..
But Rachel is a bit common too.
That's just my opinion.

I like Ryan Wesley though.
Congratulations!

I love Rhianna Jean, and Ryan Wesley. (My daughter is Brianne, and would have been Ryan if she had been a boy!) :-) She is grown up now, and her favorite girl name is Rachel. So between me and her, we approve of all these names! I LOVE Rhianna Jean. Congratulations too!

The names you have picked are all nice. May I suggest you also consider a simple, single barrel name e.g. just Rhianna of just Jean or just Rachel or just Katherine, ... You get what I mean.

I like Rachel Katherine alot but how about switching it? Katherine Rachel. I like that better, and I like Ryan Wesley as well.
