It's not so much that they sway your opinion, they browbeat you into it. If you watch Fox News channel, and some do, they will beat at you and beat at you until you either turn it off or agree. Same thing with many other news channels too.

Media is owned my someone who is beholden to advertisers, etc. and can therefore be made to promote certain agendas. But we wouldn't necessarily be aware of that, because it looks and sounds so truthful and sincere, and perception is everything, which they know very well.

The general American focus is not on the French right now. We have enough on our plates with an election year coming up and the talks of what is to be done with American troops.

Besides most of the poking fun at the French that I'm aware of came after 9/11 and had calmed well down after about a year.

All people are swayed by the media - politicians of all philosophies count on this. In a closed state, they can keep news from being released to keep control of the people. In an open country, what makes the 'best story' is more likely to get covered. There are plenty of Americans who care about what is going on in the world and who will look for more information to keep up to date on the world. Some information comes from our own media and some from international media - whatever source we can find that seems reliable.

Tony Blair was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom... not a French politician, moron. The President of the French Republic is Nicolas Sarkozy, as of May 16, 2007.

PLEASE !

Get Real ! Americans don't own this .!!
In every Country (and I have lived in 80% of them during
the last 60 years ) the Media control the thinking of
the people----especially in the years since Television
replaced book/reading---which is becoming an Ancient
art !

Of course in many places particularly the ones that end
in x x x x-East if you have an opinion it is not wise to
express it---ask some of the bereaved journalist's
wives in some countries !

But you may have a point---in some countries not
too far from here---expressing opinions not
filtered thru the Media owned by the Wealthy
is moving toward the perilous !

So---enjoy your Freedom Fries while you can !

Tony Blair had nothing to do with France.
Research who the new prime minister of Britain is and who the new president of France is.

We as Americans were presuaded that everthing on T.V., radios, movies, and any other media-related things are always correct. I realized that some or most of the things they talk about are false rumors or something that they just made up. It's riduclous that they have to lie just to get a good rating for their show or whatever. They should be ashamed.

France actively undermined the US war on terror, you traded with Iraq in spite of UN sanctions and was part of the problem and not part of the solution. If not for you and your number one ally, the Soviet union, are responsible for the Iraq war. Period.

This American does not need the media to see a rogue nation like France. Kapish

because of the fact the extremists that we see are Muslims (i assume you're speaking of the recent homicide of an English soldier) and each Muslim represents their faith. for this reason the murderers, with the aid of killing in the call of their god, have been representing Islam - consequently certainly human beings might have a bad outlook in the direction of that faith. this is like in case you went on a school holiday, and additionally you're donning your college uniform and additionally you mouth off to a pair different persons, they see the uniform and picture that the college is stuffed with undesirable-mouthed brats. i assume yet another factor is they're scared and that the popularity of Islam in no way been decrease what with 9/11, 7/7 bombings etc. And the recent events. It in basic terms looks that the extremist strikes have become further and further undemanding, and further and further Muslims to migrate to the united kingdom each year, increasing the probabilities of a potential terrorist slipping with the aid of. i actually don't have something against Muslims. i comprehend that their faith is in step with peace extra beneficial than violence, yet once you spot in the media that folk are being killed in the call of the Allah, i'm able to comprehend why human beings are so indignant at Islam. What those human beings ought to undergo in concepts is that the Muslims who killed Lee Rigby have been converts that had in no way been of their interior of sight mosque (from what i've got heard), they're nowhere close to the comparable as different contributors of the Islamic faith. additionally, from what i comprehend, they have been born in England, taught in English faculties - the Muslim immigrants at the instant are not any further of achieveable than the persons who're born in the united kingdom.

Most Americans are not that well educated and are too lazy to develope critical thinking skills. This is what MSM is for. I never watch what passes for news for that reason. Having a degree in Radio Television Film does not soften my opinion about the lowest common denominator, programing, and viewer intelligence.

Come on. Without the Liberal Media, Kennedy would not have been elected. Mr. Peanuts would not have been elected. Clinton, who "won" 2 times in a row, would not have been elected. He was a "minority" President; the majority of the votes went to his opponent, yet I see no won in Y! wondering why Clinton was President, how Clinton was a dictator, proving it has influenced you, too.
Wake up, America! The Media has you bamboozled!
