Mechanical Advantage (MA)is the amount of help/ factor by which a machine multiplies the force put into it. It is usually calculated in simple machines(ex. pulleys, wheel and axle, etc.)

Mechanical advantage is the ratio of load to effort.

M.A=load/effort
ex> if a load of 10 tons is to be lifted and the applied effort is 5 tons the n ma = 10/5=2
