A friend did after their kitten fell into a can of paint. It died. Turns out the oils in the fur keeps the cat's skin supple and without that fur, it dies a miserable death. The most anyone should cut off is clumped fur on a long-haired cat.

I had a old tabby and well he was fond of shedding so guess what he got what groomers call a lion king hairdo I dont think that cat ever liked me after that

I've shaved a kitty before. The damn thing swallowed me whole afterwards. Man it was fun!! ;>)

no, but my friend used to shave her Persian every couple of months. it looked pretty funny. kind of like a poodle.
