Smaug, your spelling and grammar is far from perfect, so maybe use spell check yourself before criticizing other people.

To answer your question, I love both the movies and the books, but I prefer reading the books because they go into much more detail and include some scenes the movies miss out.

I starting reading the books after I had watched the movies and it wouldn't have made the slightest bit of difference knowing at the time JK Rowling was female. She is an amazing writer with a great imagination.

the books are way better than the movies since in the movies they have to edit a lot of scenes or tweak the story a bit due to time and budget constraints...of course you also knew how the characters really feel in the books which some of the actors in the movie are not able to convey.

i read the books before i watched the movies. it would be frustrating if you saw the movie first because you wouldn't be able tu clearly understand the plot of the story, etc..

J.K. stands for Joanne Kathleen ;)

I've never read the books but I really enjoyed the movie. My best friend is an avid Harry Potter fan and says that although the movies are accurate, they leave ALOT of stuff out. We agree that Prisoner of Azkahban was the best movie so far in the series. I would have definitely bought her book no worries. Maybe she's superstitious about her name as an author.

the books are always better than the movies... i read the books before the movie comes out therefore i could judge that the book is better because it is more complete and is the real deal... idk bout your third question but who cares? JK Rowling is now even richer than the queen of England by the money she's making from the books!

first of all, you need to learn how to spell/use grammar correctly, anyways on to your questions, the movies arent anywhere as good as the books, second question, my parents saw the books on fox news channel when the 4th one came out and bought me the 4th one, which i read but didnt get anything that was happening because i hadnt read the others, then they bought the first few and i fell in love with them, yes i would buy her books if she is a woman, i dont care whether the person who writes is a man or female, if i like the story ill buy it
