I'm doing an article about first love lasting forever, not for a project but just for some general knowledge. Why does First Love last forever. Oh and I don't need any answers about why True love lasts forever, I have enough of those.

First love lasts forever because it is the icebreaker... you are both experiencing something for the first time, and learn to cope with both the excitement and the pain of love. The innocence is there, chivalry is there (as little kids will pick flowers for one another and what not), and people remember that, before they become old enough to experience reality, and realize they have to find someone more than just a person who picks them flowers, holds the door for them, and shares their milk and cupcakes.
For me though, the true love part applies a bit. Although I believed I had loved other men over the course of my life, I met a man who made all of that seem like child's play, and made me realize that the rest of the people had not been "Love" per say, as much as something to pass the time. Although I had believed, at the time I was with the other men, that I "loved" them, EVERYTHING changed when I met this man. He was truly my first love. He embodies everything that I have listed in the above paragraph - relating to the child-like first love, in addition to the fact that we get along famously, and we adore one another. First love is pure and innocent, and thus serves as an example of what we want in a partner, but is much harder to find, once reality sets in, and we have bills to pay, jobs to go to, and parent-teacher conferences to attend.

All true love lasts forever.
The first one seems to stand out simply because it is a novel experience. If it doesn't work out many people lose their faith in love and become jaded and lose their ability to love.
A lot of people end up marrying just for business or social reasons - its not because its not their first love but because they have given up on love. If you can keep your own heart pure then you can fall in love again without pretending.

It's the firsts in life that are the most remembered and make the deepest impressions. There can be others after that but there will always only be one first time. Our experiences and memories from our firsts are the ones we will compare any others to.

Because your so innocent and close in ur first love ur almost like brother and sister, so when its over since u spent so much INNOCENT time together its like u always have that link with them and also you might long for them back because at that time it was all so wonderful, but u dont want them back persay, u just want the feeling.
I'm thirteen im not entirely sure if thats even happened to me properly yet! But it kinda has, btw all that was my dads idea not mine so credit to him lol. x

Just simple. Anything first in life is first thing in life and it shall naturally last for ever. Be it first kiss, or first kick!!!

I've heard that it is because most first love happens during the preteen or teen years and our brains are much more impressionable during these times, so the feelings seem more intense than they do at later ages.

because it remains in memory as being the first... the good experiences you first have, are more impressive for your mind and are kept within more deeply. and cause love is a big issue, to first experience same, is marked allover you.
