They've been working hard at trying to do this for years. The problem is their hiring practices. They are not allowed to fire incompetence, so in regards to improving their processes or their productivity they are limited.

The Federal Government has no business being in business! Get them out of our lives. With the exception of protecting you from me, me from you and us from the rest of the world, they have no business running anything.

Let our states and municipalities have the power that the Feds now have. Give the voters the opportunity to decide for themselves what we need and don't need.

Let's put an end to this ridiculous bureaucracy and 'lawmakers' who spend their time kowtowing to special interest groups and the corporate Gods!

Yeah. It happens a LOT nowadays too.
Look into presidential candidate Ron Paul. He'd be the best thing that happened to America in a long time. Too bad there's probably no way he's going to get elected... Anyways, his ideas for the presidency are based around that very idea and in some debates and interviews with him he explains why very well.

Of course - but it depends on what you consider waste - in Federal Government programs what is considered waste to one party is considered a necessity to the other party. Define what you mean as waste and I am more likely to give a better answer.

Anytime you eliminate waste it would be a good thing. Our problem is eliminating pork projects shoved into good legislation. We have enough laws on the books now that are not enforced.
