It sure was.
They traded nuclear technology and gave them plans and parts for "soft water" reactors that were easily converted to "hard water" reactors. All just so they would leave South Korea alone. Like they were a threat in the first place.
The Clinton's also handed over some of our missile technology to the Chinese. Many of those missiles are now aimed at Taiwan.

Actually the fault of North Korea getting nukes with US aid on the subject was that "man of peace" Jimmy Carter." He should stick to building homes and staying out of world politics. The could use his hammers and nails down in New Orleans. He convinced Clinton to support his plan to deal with North Korea and received a applause for his efforts - talk about a bungler (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Carter#Diplomacy ).

Bush isn't a madman, and no, he won't nuke Syria and North Korea. the two countries have persistently exceeded over UN treaties, and no person has accomplished something. initiate examining distinctive information sources :)

They're not nukes, they're atomic bombs.
1 nuke = 1000 atomic bombs (big difference)
And N. Korea didn't make a FULLY functional atom bomb, because the detonation timing sytem was off by a bit, which means it doesn't make a big boom. Big mess, but no noise.
But I wouldn't blame Bush.

It was Bill via Carter that bartered the deal with N Korea. They were told then that N Korea shouldnt be trusted and years later, we find those warnings to be true.

what i cant understand is why if we want all other nations to not have nukes why will we not lay ours down? it is like we want to be the only bullies in school.
