The Yankees have a ton of great players.....but how come they haven't won it all for a while?

The Yankees have good players. But they're not great. Until the Yankees win the World Series 5 times in a row MLB will never have a salary cap.

The reasoning is fairly simple. The other team was hotter. When the Sox beat them, they were smokin. If the Yankees have their Mystique going, they are hard to beat. They are on an absolute tear right now. The tigers beat them because they did the one thing they needed to do which was win 1 at Yankee stadium. If you can put the Yankees on their heels, you have a chance. Problem is, there isn't a weak spot in their lineup. that's what's alway been their strength. Average players become super heroes in Yankee Pinstripes. Something else to think on is injuries. I'm talking nagging injuries. one's that the players have played through but now they are really hurtin. I hate the Yankees, and I root for ANYONE who plays against them. Right now, Its going to be very interesting. The last thing is, as it is with any team, inconsistent pitching. When you have to go get a very worn, and tired Clemens, you are hurting. All he is is an innings eater. They had pitchers that have failed, but, have young ones they've had to bring up early and have been a pleasant surprise

just because you have top players doesn't mean they win all the time
it's all about the team and how they work TOGETHER..you just can't have THEE best players and expect a world series right away.
yanks not winning in a while is not confusing to me. :)

Teamwork. the yankees players are only concerned with themselves, and not the team as a whole. it's me me me me me me me me me me me with each and every one of the players.
