Just curiious how may of you out there who are resident in another country and don't normally speak English as your 1st language, still check out English 'Answers' rather than a more (nationally) appropriate version.

Please indicate which country you are writing from. No reason. Just curious.

I'm from Denmark, living in China, teaching English. I use the English "Answers" because there's no Danish version.

1) The main thing that your friend should do is to read books. Reading books will help her so much! It will enhance her vocabulary, help her pronounce words, and give her lots and lots of practice. I've been reading ever since I was small and I think that is what helped me so much with English. :) I'm not American but I'm fluent in English. 2) Another thing your friend could do would be to have conversations with other people in English. Her English will improve and it will just come out naturally. 3) She could listen to American music (not the bad junk). It might help her by hearing other people's voices. 4) Watch movies, documentaries or TV shows in English. It's just a fun way to learn the language and just know how people pronounce words. She shouldn't stress out over this too much because I think it will come out naturally if she reads books, talks to other people, listens to music, and watches other people talking.

I'm from Ukraine. Not sure we have a national version of Answers. By the way, nothing indicates that this site is for England. It rather looks like international

My country has more than one official language -- English being one of them.
