So, the question is can I use a Camry air intake manufactured by brands such as Injen, AEM, K&N for my Lexus ES 300? The year is 2002, 3.0L V6 engine, I was wondering since the v6 engine is identical with its Camry counter-part. The only problem I have, is that there aren't any air intakes for my car but there is for the Camry. So I would appreciated any knowledgeable input from you guys. Thanks.

It's going to take some measuring and perhaps mounting alterations but you're right the Camry gathers cold air above the radiator and a plastic tube drops down to the cold air box where my Toyota supplied TEO sport washable and re-usable air cleaner drops perfectly into the air box.

I'm with you concerning air intake systems. There are of plenty of companies who'd like to sell you fancy aluminum chromed-up intake air manifolding but it makes no sense to be drawing hot under-hood air. If you're really serious about the possibility of making your own cold air intake system a progressive young sheet metal worker could make a serious good looking cold air box for you.

We have an engine builder in our area who's day job is running a CNC machine in a sheet metal (tinners) shop. He's made some great looking hood scoops, air cleaner (NASCAR) cold air intake systems that draw in cold air from the base of windshields and extended height aluminum welded valve covers from scratch.

that is going to be a maybe. Even tho it is the same engine, for some reason there is a good bit more room in the Camry. But most any cold air intake system take a bit of beating to get it in. It wont slide in there, but with a little work it should fit
