Why would Columbia University award a speaking engagement to a man who sponsored a "Hate America" parade in his own nation? Does anyone else find this vile and disgusting and downright asinine? If these people think they can debate him and or win his heart they are sadly mistaken. Columbia, this man thinks you are a bunch of ******* and he's playing right into your bleeding hearts...WAKE UP!

I would be ashamed if my children went to Columbia, even before the Ahmadinejad controversy. It is known for being full of wacko liberals hellbent on exerting their free speech rights.

Here is a little of my own free speech.
Columbia sucks.

Gators rule.

The "academics" at Columbia are what Stalin would have called "useful idiots." Let's just hope that there will be some bright students who ask Mr. Holocaust Denier some tough questions. I wish some Christian student would break him down on stage and he would cry and ask Jesus for forgiveness right on stage while converting to Christianity. Wouldn't THAT turn the Muslim world on its head?

A university is going to allow an unpopular speaker

He is accused of terror and of attempting to create nuclear weapons that may be used against either the US or Israel

He denies those accusations -

He is going to face tough questions by America's brightest in an exchange of idea's

Perhaps you have no faith in America's youth being able to tell right from wrong or to not recognise the truth when they hear it -

If he is a liar and a terrorist etc here is America's youth's opurtunity to make an international fool out of him and he himself has invited it

What is your problem ?

Are you suggesting America's youth are too dumb for the job are you scared the Iranian President will convince them ?

Why do you have such a poor opinion of these kids and their abilities ?

Liberal nuts always cover-up their odd anti-social behaviors behind the ruses of either free speech or art.
Ha. Truth is Columbia U. is full of a bunch of social outcasts trying to make a name for themselves by being as extreme as possible, similar to the tactics of the Tazer Kid.

Welcome to the USA where we have intellectual and academic freedom. As a CU alum, I can tell you that there will be protests and other activity against Ahmadinejad. However, if we learn what causes terror that gives us a better means to stop it.

Stev: Have you ever even been near the Columbia campus?

I think they're aware of his views. But in America we have the right to learn and discuss and embrace different viewpoints.

No worries. I'm sure there will be plenty of protests by both students and parents paying tuition.

Because like it or not -- he is an important person in current world politics, and whether we like him or not -- it's important to understand his viewpoint.

Ignoring him and pretending he doesn't exist is not a solution to anything. You cannot oppose someone you don't understand -- we tried that before, and it failed badly.

Have you ever heard the phrase "know your enemy"?
