what is a sound card. i was told to take tower to where i bought ,they will open & install new 1?

if i disconnect tower will i cause more problems?

The sound card is what enables your speakers to work. see the rectangular metal plates on the back of your tower that have plug-in slots, usb slots....those are cards that attach to the mother board.

Shut down the tower completely and unhook everything from the back, then transport it in an upright position to where you bought and make them fix it. keep detailed accounts of problems.
