if we loose our way of life and the middle class keeps getting bled at this rate people may finely start paying attention to the things that should matter. right now people only think as far as today's headline. which in this case is almost always Iraq or terror. truth is if we would have been more worried about our own house and were watching our own yard we may never have had to tread this current path. we have a commitment to keep the people of this country free not to be the hall monitors of the world.

It would be very naive and short sighted to think that we can concentrate on domestic issues without any regard for the world issues. Unlike LasVegas, what happens in other countries does not necessarily stay in those countries. For instance, the Islamic militants have clearly proved that they cannot keep their hatred and blood lust confined to within their own borders.
And we certainly are no longer self sufficient when it comes to providing manufactured goods and products in our own domestic market place - we have systematically outsourced these capabilities to the rest of the world - and one result is the global competition and resulting price increase in energy - specifically the world's supply of oil and gas.
The volatility in other countries and the present world economy demand that we focus on world issues that ultimately and inevitably result in domestic issues.

In the 08 election I think Domestic issues are the most important. We have a lot to fix in our own country. Seems like the US and the all mighty dollar are on a down hill slope and it is time to repair this issue before it goes to far.

Our ability to involve ourselves in world issues depends upon a strong economy. Also our economy is interlinked with everyone else's. So by answering "domestic issues" I'm really saying both.

I think domestic issues should take the cake. We have been so occupied helping other countries while our country is in a mess. Illegal immigration, health insurance or lack of, housing, outsourcing, etc. It's way past time to clean up our own back yard.

The 2 are too closely related.
You could have a domestic paradise and have some ignored nutcase blow it out from under you.
We can't hide behind oceans anymore.
